Sharing a name with one of man’s best friends, Benji knows he has big shoes to fill! This young cat was part of a large case involving too many cats to care for. Because of their previous living situation, these cats had never had to adjust to new people or new places before, and they were totally overwhelmed. Though he was among the last of his group to open up, he’s done so in a big way! Benji has revealed himself to be quite the chatterbox, meowing for staff attention and rubbing up against the cage. He loves a good behind-the-ear scratch (widely accepted as the best spot) and will lean hard into your hand, ready to follow you anywhere. He hasn’t figured out toys yet, but he’s discovered he loves a cozy little hide bed!

We expect that Benji could become anxious and reserved again during his early transition to a forever home, but we’ve seen what a loving companion awaits on the other side and believe he will make choosing him worth the time for his forever family.
