York County SPCA Volunteer Mission Statement

The York County SPCA volunteers provide assistance to the organization’s staff by completing basic animal husbandry, demonstrating care and compassion to the adoptable pets, and adhering to the organization’s rules and regulations.

Volunteer Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older to work directly with the animals.
  • Commitment to the YCSPCA's mission to serve the animals and residents of York County.
  • Comply with the rules and mission of the YCSPCA.
  • Demonstrate an ability to handle sensitive issues, situations, and information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Volunteers are asked to purchase a volunteer T-shirt ($7) and a volunteer name tag ($8) that should be worn whenever either volunteering at the Shelter, at an event or at a satellite location.
