Volunteering for Animal Lovers of All Ages
Volunteers under the age of 18 are not able to work directly with the animals, but there are opportunities for volunteers of all ages to make a difference in the lives of animals at the York County SPCA.
Volunteer Youth Program
Youth between the ages of 13 and 17 can volunteer with the York County SPCA Youth Program. This fun and dedicated group meets once a month to help with various projects and events supporting our shelter. Several Youth Program duties include packing dry cat and dog food for senior centers and hosting bake sales during shelter events.
Periodically, the YCSPCA needs help with quick projects such as weeding or painting. We rely on the kind donation of volunteer time to complete these temporary, done-in-a-day projects that keep our shelter clean and welcoming.
Check out our Wish List to see what donation items are most needed at our shelter. Host a general donation drive at any time or in honor of a special occasion, such as your birthday. Or, host a donation drive for a specific item such as Kongs, which we fill and give to each of our dogs for enrichment.
We are extremely grateful for all advocacy on behalf of the York County SPCA. Whether you advocate in-person or virtually, we need your support to help keep the YCSPCA a local leader in animal welfare. For example, if you are social media savvy, we welcome you to share our social media content, website photos of adoptable animals, and YCSPCA news or events.
