May brings more than spring flowers...

They also bring Kitten Showers!

May 12th through 19th

We're Expecting...Kittens!

Every year, beginning in March, we begin taking in countless kittens who have been separated from their moms. In the animal rescue world, we call this "kitten season." As kitten season begins, homeless kittens will be counting on us to save their lives.

Our fosters are critical in the effort to save the lives of homeless kittens, and it takes a lot of supplies to keep our kittens thriving!

So we are hosting a kitten shower!

The York County SPCA Kitten Shower is a week-long donation drive that runs from May 12th through 19th. Last year, due to the support from our community, we were able to find placement for 458 cats and kittens! We are aiming to help even more this year!

On Friday, May 19th, we will end the week with a Kitten Adoption Event! Help us find our tiniest felines their FUR-ever homes!

Kitten Shower Adoption Event

Friday, May 19th - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Location: The York County SPCA

Address: 3159 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406

We will have numerous kittens available for adoption at our event! All adopters must be PRE-APPROVED prior to adopting. You can either submit an application for a specific kitten through their adoption profile on our website, or you can submit a general Cat Adoption Application. Once approved, your application will remain good for one year for any cat. It is BYOC (Bring Your Own Carrier), and also please no cash payments. For more information, visit our Facebook Event page!

How can YOU help kittens in our care?

Your support can save a life today.

1. Donate needed Wish List Items!

All week long from May 12th through 19th, we are asking for our community to support our kitten fosters by donating needed items on our Kitten Shower Wish Lists. You can donate items from our general Wish List or Amazon Wish List. You can have the items sent directly to us or drop off your items at the shelter.

2. Become a foster!

You get all the benefits of raising adorable kittens for a period of time. We will provide you all the supplies to make it possible. Apply to be a foster on our website!

3. Make a monetary donation to support our mission!

Donate directly to the York County SPCA by clicking the DONATE button below! Your donation will help us purchase supplies directly for our fosters and kittens, and support kittens that require extra medical care.

4. Learn more about and utilize TNR services!

Trap-Neuter-Return is a service the York County SPCA provides for outdoor, free-roaming cats. Many cats thrive in their natural habitats in colonies, and TNR works by humanely setting a trap, transporting them to the shelter, spaying/neutering them, providing rabies vaccines, and releasing them back to their original outdoor homes. We encourage you to read our resources on our website and utilize our TNR services if you know of community cats near you.
