Our Impact in 2021

In 2021, we found permanent, loving homes for more than 1,300 animals. We conducted over 10,430 spay/neuter surgeries between the shelter and clinic. We rescued more than 250 animals from cruelty or neglect and performed over 1,030 animal welfare checks. We provided safe refuge for more than 2,200 animals. We gave over 13,000 pounds of free pet food to more than 180 pet owners in need. Plus, we increased our save rate to nearly 85%, bringing us closer to our goal of a 90% save rate, which would classify the York County SPCA as a "no-kill" animal shelter.

We are so proud of our team - the staff, volunteers, adopters, fosters, and donors - for accomplishing such incredible work. And we know there is still progress to be made. Discover the impact we made for animals in need last year and where we're headed in 2022 in our Impact Report.
